Welcome to this 12th edition of Moithuti solemnly dedicated to the tributes delivered by the 21st National Executive Committee members at the memorial and funeral service of our late Deputy President Comrade Buyile Sangolekhaya Matiwane.

Comrade Buyile Matiwane passed away on Monday, 11 of July 2022 at his flat in Rosebank Johannesburg in Gauteng. Since the announcement of these unfortunate news organisations and individuals have been sending their heartfelt messages to the South African Students Congress (SASCO) and the Matiwane family.

In this edition we will be having tributes by:

1. Cde Buthanani Thobela – Secretary General,
2. Cde Nkosana Jack – NEC member,
3. Cde Luvuyo Barnes – NEC member,
4. Cde Bamanye Matiwane – President

Cde Buthanani Thobela delivered his tribute in Western Cape at the first National Memorial Service, Cde Nkosana Jack delivered his tribute at the provincial memorial of Northern Cape whilst Cde Luvuyo Barnes delivered his at the Gauteng Provincial memorial and the President delivering his at the Eastern Cape memorial.

We will be dedicating our 13th Edition to the Provincial Leadership to share their own tributes as individuals or articles on behalf of their Provincial Executive Committees and the 14th being of all officials that haven’t been featured here together with friends and family members.

We shall use all platforms available to remember and honour this fallen Comrade and ensure that his memory and ideas continue to live on.

We hope that you enjoy these tributes and are provocative enough for one to pen down their own memories.
